The first of my many adventures in the great Pacific Northwest begins in Mount Baker National Forest. This is probably my favorite place to hike in Washington. I took the Chain Lakes Loop Trail to Artist Point in early August, and I learned that this trail is not for the faint-hearted. You see, the best part of this trail is that it never ends, and the worst part is … well, it never ends! There is something different for you to see from every possible angle.
To me this was a true manifestation of the words: “The hills are alive with the sound of music.”
After the hike my body was sore, my eyes were blessed with so many amazing scenes, and my heart longs to go back someday.
